Four pupils from the 1st XI Hockey team have been named in the Scotland U18 training squad.

Congratulations to Form V pupils Amy Salmon, Lucy Smith and Rhiannon Carr.

Congratulations also goes to Form VI pupil Eve Pearson, 1st XI Captain and experienced Internationalist. Eve has recently returned to play after a broken collar bone.

The girls have also been selected to play in Scottish Hockey’s exciting new initiative.

The inaugural Best vs Best hockey tournament will feature three teams: Dundee Devils; Edinburgh Lightning and Glasgow Thunder.

The teams are based roughly on geographical allegiances but are also built to ensure the best players have the opportunity to compete.

The series has been designed to bring club and international hockey together with 54 of Scotland’s best female hockey players featuring in teams of 18.

A Scottish Hockey Development Series will also be played as part of the event before each of the Super Series matches.

Emerging talent from across Scotland will compete in a contest mirroring the Super Series matches, and our four Dollar players will feature in this Development series.

Amy Salmon, Rhiannon Carr and Lucy Smith will represent ‘The Dundee Devils’ and Eve Pearson will play for ‘Edinburgh Lightening’.

Former Pupils, Georgia Smith, Jenny Walls and Erin Stevens have also been selected to play in the Super Series.

Director of Hockey, Lynsey Allan, who coaches the Scotland Senior Woman performance sessions has been appointed Head Coach for the ‘Glasgow Thunder’ Senior side.

“It is a real honour to have been appointed as head coach of the Glasgow team and I a thoroughly looking forward to the Super Series weekend. I am delighted for the girls in the 1st XI and the Former Pupils who have been named in the various squads. It is a great opportunity for the girls to perform amongst Scotland’s best players.”
