On Tuesday 12 May, we were delighted to welcome Satveer Nijjar to Dollar Academy (albeit via a Zoom lens) where she delivered an engaging session to Form V on looking after their mental health.
She returned later in the evening and ran a two-hour parental session on self-harm awareness. Drawing from her own experiences, Satveer tackled this difficult subject with professionalism, honesty and a lightness of touch which encouraged parents to think critically about the assumptions they make connected to those who self-harm. This mixture of analysis and personal input made for an extremely insightful and informative evening and we look forward to welcoming her back to Dollar ‘in real life’ next year.
