The young thespians took their audience on a dramatic journey of the Titanic, the ship once hailed as ‘the floating city’. First-, second- and third-class passengers took to the stage, as well as members of the crew; musicians and narrators also all had their turns, looking convincingly and dashingly Edwardian in their beautiful costumes.
The story of the Titanic
They finished off the performance with their own version of the last hymn that was played on the doomed ship as it sank below the waves: ‘Nearer, My God, to Thee’. It was a tremendously compelling and moving assembly, which the pupils had worked very hard to prepare and rehearse.
