On 25 March, Dollar Academy is hosting a tournament to celebrate the opening of a new astro turf pitch for Junior School hockey.
Hockey is a major part of life for many Dollar pupils, with all girls aged 8 to 18 invited to make use of the fantastic facilities and learn from exceptional coaches. Our First XI are the current Scottish Champions and, by investing in the earlier years, the aim is to ensure a stream of talented players rising up through the school in years to come. To celebrate the opening of the pitch, Dollar is hosting a 20-team tournament of Junior 1 and 2 teams from several schools across Scotland.
Scottish Women’s Hockey Champion, Kareena Cuthbert will also be attending the event, speaking to pupils and answering any questions that they may have.
Rector, Mr David Knapman, will be opening the pitch at 9.45 am. This will be followed by a performance from the Dollar Academy Pipe Band before play gets underway.
This is a free-to-attend event for all current parents, Former Pupils and the wider Dollar community. Tea and coffee will be available for all spectators. All pupils participating in this event will be provided with lunch.
