Thirty-three competitors from across all seven Junior classes took part, wowing the judges with their rendition of his most famous works.
Burns Competition Winners
As ever, the calibre was extremely high. Mr Graham Pearson and Mr David Nelson, from the Dollar Burns Club, and Mrs Kate Murray, Head of English, had the unenviable task of selecting the following eight most deserving winners:
Emma Manson J2M who sang ‘Ca’ The Yowes’
Caitlin Lowry J2H who recited ‘Man Was Made to Mourn’
Archie Riddle J2S who recited ‘It as a’ for our Rightful King’
Harriet Johns J2H who sang ‘Flow Gently Sweet Afton’
Oscar Murdoch J1D who recited ‘Scots Wha Hae’
Emily Bridle J1L who sang ‘Auld Lang Syne’
Rhiannon Millar J1L who recited ‘To a Louse’
The overall winner, who was presented with the Quaich, was Reilly Thomson of J2H. ‘Her passionate and heartfelt recitation of ‘Tam O’Shanter’ captivated and enthralled the judges,’ said Mrs Letford (Junior School teacher).
