The team successfully beat all three sides in their group stage—St Aloysius’ College, George Heriot’s School and Stewart’s Melville College—before going on to beat Edinburgh Academy in the semi-final match (3-1). They took on Glasgow Academy in the final and, in that final and most important match, the young athletes sustained their level of play and defeated the opposition, 5-0.

‘Despite the rain,’ said Mr Frost (PE teacher and rugby coach), ‘the boys tackled relentlessly, turned over ball, counter-attacked and found space most effectively, ultimately proving too strong for their opponents.’
This victory was all the more impressive performance given the immensely difficult conditions, and ‘the boys were a credit to Dollar both in their commitment and sportsmanship,’ commented Mr Frost.
