Dyslexia Awareness Week

This week is Dyslexia Awareness Week in Scotland.

To raise awareness of this, our Support for Learning team have organised a number of activities taking place in the school.

Blue ribbons are available from the School Office for pupils and staff to wear to show support. In the Senior School library, there is a display that contains useful resources and literature around the theme of dyslexia. On Friday, there will be a pupil led assembly, where a member of staff will share his experiences of being dyslexic.

Our Support for Learning Department aims to develop a pupil’s learning experience, wherever a barrier has been identified. The team looks to equip pupils with skills and strategies, which will help them to succeed independently and with confidence within both their current and future learning environments. The department works collaboratively with other professional agencies including Educational Psychologists, Optometrists, Therapists and Audiologists.
