Dollar’s Got Talent

A wide range of musical talent, from magicians to solo singers to a staff band, was on show in the Assembly Hall on Monday 18 December for the annual Dollar’s Got Talent show, organised by the Charities Committee to raise funds. The judges (Dr Johnson, Mrs McFadyean and Anne Campbell) were (mostly) impressed by (just about) every performance and certainly let loose with some pithy, witty feedback after every act.

The acts included The Carabees, Ali Williams, The Staff Band, Yan (the Mandarin Assistant), Mathew McGarva, Conor Philip, Lily Wilton and The Boarding Belles. The eventual winners were the Carabees.

This event is always a very successful one and this year the pupils raised a tremendous £700 through ticket sales and donations on the day. The money will go to Play Alloa, a local charity that works to offer an extensive range of creative play and social activities to as many local children and adults with disabilities and additional support needs as possible.
