Dollar wins biggest CCF competition for 4th consecutive year

On 27-29 September, our CCF competed in the 51st Infantry Brigade Scottish Military Skills Competition in Barry Buddon.

This is the biggest event in the CCF calendar and is run by the Regular Army in a fieldcraft environment. Our cadets were tested over a series of difficult challenges, which included obstacle courses and Section Battle Drills.

This year, Dollar entered both the A team and the B team, and incredibly they came joint first! This is the tenth time in the last sixteen years that Dollar’s CCF have won the competition and the fourth year in a row.  The cadets also collected the Piper Laidlaw trophy, which is awarded to the “Overall Best Team” in the competition.

Our CCF have now set a new record of consecutive wins within this competition. The previous record was also set by Dollar when the cadets won consistently between the years of 2005-2007.

Captain MP Scott said: “The cadets were a credit to themselves and the school and once again set a standard which all others strive to achieve.”

Well done to all the pupils who took part in this competition.
