Dollar Ski Racing Success

On 29-30 October, our Ski Teams competed in the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association (SSSA) Autumn Dual Slalom finals at Snowfactor in Glasgow.

After originally qualifying at Fir Park, the teams competed against schools from across Scotland and over the two days, pupils from our Prep, Junior and Senior Schools all had a chance to compete.

Senior pupils had an amazing day of racing and our S1-3 A Team came 1st  in their category, lifting the trophy for the first time in a number of years. The pupils in this team were: Lauren and Freddie (both FIII), along with Ian, Christina and Adam (FI). Adding to this success, our S1-3 B Team came 3rd  overall and pupils Matthew and Fin (FI), along with Ben, Murdo and Nina (FII) all picked up bronze medals. Both teams were fantastic on the day – showing great promise for the future of the sport at Dollar.

Our Open Senior Team also raced and placed 3rd  in their category, narrowly missing out on a semi-final spot. Well done to Archie K and Imogen (FIV), along with Archie M and Emma (FV).

Our Prep and Junior ski racers also had a great day and came home with silver medals this year. The pupils skied really well and the race marshals complimented them on their behaviour and patience. The pupils in this team were: Hamish and Nicholas (J2), Harry (J1) and Craig (P5).

Well done to all the pupils who took part in this competition.
