Dollar Retain British Pipe Band Title

On Saturday morning, in lovely sunshine, two Dollar Academy Pipe Bands travelled to Paisley to compete in the RSPBA British Pipe Band Championships, the first major of the year.

The Juvenile Band, our senior band, played at 10am and despite the nerves that always kick in at the start of a fresh season, with new young players in the Band, they played beautifully and all four judges marked them first. This meant they retained their British title, as well as winning the drum corps prize. Later in the day, the Novice Juvenile A Band also performed extremely well and were delighted to win their category, also becoming British champions. Both bands were pleased to march through Dollar on their return to school where they were greeted by a very enthusiastic and happy crowd.
