Two pupils, in particular, deserve special mention. Sophie Ferguson (Form VI) received the Edinburgh Mathematical Society Award for achieving top marks in her Higher Mathematics examination last year, scoring 100%. Sophie was one of nine pupils to do so, out of a total of 18,861 in Scotland who sat the exam —a tremendous feat.

And Rachel Pollock (currently in Form VI) earned the highest mark in Scotland in the Higher Business Management examination last year. In last year’s SQA examination diet, a remarkable total of 9,116 candidates sat the examination, so for Rachel to top the list is an extraordinary achievement.
