Dollar Pupil Excels in Scottish Squash Competition

Oliver Hunter (Form I) played in second position in a four-strong team representing Central Scotland U13s at last weekend’s (20-22 April) Scottish Squash Junior Inter-Regional Competition held at Scotstoun in Glasgow; this is a major event in the squash calendar.

In their age group, Central put in an impressive performance across the three days, finishing as the 2018 U13 runners-up just behind West of Scotland. Central Scotland U13s achieved overall wins against every region except West finishing with 69 games, just three games behind the winning West team score of 72, an impressive achievement.

Oliver was delighted to remain undefeated in each one of his matches. He fought hard to beat strong opponents in both West (3-2) and East (3-1) and won 3-0 against Tayside, Highlands & Islands and Grampian.

Over the weekend of 28-29 April, he played in an England Squash tournament in Newcastle; we look forward to hearing about the results of that competition. Looking further ahead to June, Oliver will be travelling to Italy to compete in the Italian Junior Squash Open. We wish him the best of luck in that upcoming tournament.
