Winner of the Fife Young Musician Award
The Fife Festival of Music exists to support and develop music making in the community. The first part of this busy festival takes place over two weeks ‘of vibrant music making, both competitive and non-competitive, ranging from instrumental, through vocal to choral, with solo, duet, ensemble and large group classes available’ in January and February. In this large competition field, Chloe won the Open Recital Class in heats. As a result of this performance, she went on to the Fife Young Musician Award competition which, after a tremendous performance, she also won.
Chloe is also through to the semi-final of the national ‘Rotary Club Young Musician’ competition after competing successfully in the Area heats and District final. The ‘Scotland and North of England’ regional final will take place on 15 April at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Chloe has also been accepted, again, to the NYJOS (National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland) Summer School.
As every musician knows, it takes untold hours of dedication in a practice room to reach the levels of success enjoyed by Chloe. We wish her all the best as she works toward the regional final performance in April and wish her the best at the upcoming Summer School.
