Katie has already enjoyed a very successful hockey career, having earned 38 Senior caps to date. She is also a member of the Great Britain Elite Development Programme.
Scotland squad selection for #GC2018
‘Katie has been a fantastic member of the coaching team here at school and I am delighted for her on her selection,’ said Lynsey Allan (Director of Hockey). ‘I played club hockey with her for several years and she is a brilliant player, very fast and exciting in attack. She thoroughly deserves to be in the squad, as she is so disciplined and has an excellent work ethic. She is an excellent role model for the pupils, too. Katie will return to Dollar in July as a member of staff on the senior Hockey Tour to Malaysia. In August she will be based here at school while completing her postgraduate degree in Physical Education. On behalf of the school, I would like to wish her every success in Australia.’
The Scotland squad are currently in full-time training, based at the National Hockey Centre in Glasgow.
Miss Robertson said, ‘I am delighted and honoured to be named as part of team Scotland for the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast. We are not long back from our selection camp in Gran Canaria, which was tough but very worthwhile and big steps were made as a squad. The selected squad are now looking forward to a productive few weeks of training before heading out to Australia. We are ranked 6th in the tournament and will face our toughest challenges against Australia and New Zealand.’
‘I would especially like to thank Dollar Academy for support it has provided to me over the last few years. I cannot wait to start working and be part of such a fantastic school.’
