Lucy was competing against all the top male and female gymnasts in the country and gained an overall bronze medal. The top three medallists scores were extremely tight – 1st place gaining 29.55, 2nd place gaining 29.3 and Lucy gaining 29.25 points. Lucy was presented with another bronze medal for her floor routine, where she scored an impressive 14.15 and narrowly missed out on a medal in the vault, coming 4th place and scoring 15.1.
Dollar had three teams qualifying for the National Finals. All three teams competed extremely well and really seemed to enjoy the event. The Secondary Level 1 team of Anna Milling Smith, Amelie Fyfe and Rebecca Watson (all Form I) seemed very relaxed whilst competing and were placed 14th overall. Rebecca gained the highest placing individually, gaining 29th place. The Secondary Level 2 team also competed with great spirit – Paige Stevens, Hayley Smith (both Form 1) and Tyler Hunter (J2), were placed 16th overall, with Tyler gaining top individual placing of 23rd.
Three teams qualified for the finals
Many thanks to Tyler for replacing Symantha Scott (Form II) who had to pull out of this qualifying team. The Secondary Level 3 team of Sophie Wilson (Form II), Sarah Nicol and Katy Hynd (both Form 1) performed with real poise and gained overall 13th place. Sophie and Sarah gained 37= place out of 78 gymnasts competing.
