The concert took place on Friday 27 April at 7.30pm in the Gibson Auditorium, and a wide range of Academy pupils performed including the immensely talented Chamber Choir, as well as the Forms I and II Choir and the Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs. DAJO, Dollar’s top jazz orchestra, performed some lively and ambitious pieces too, and some remarkable soloists offered further variety to the programme of events.
‘It was just a great evening, and a packed house,’ said Mrs Fitzpatrick (Director of Music). ‘Everyone in the audience was delighted by the very lively programme.’
Concert for The Gate
Generous donations from audience members went toward supporting the families and individuals in need who are helped every day thanks to the efforts of The Gate charity in Alloa. A total of £1,224.91 was raised.
The Gate is a registered Charity set up in December 2011 and was founded by members of The Ludgate Church. Located in a refurbished Church building in the heart of the Alloa community, the charity works in partnership with external services to support people living within Clackmannanshire. It also acts as an information hub for the community.
‘Thank you very much to all involved in putting on the concert and for your support,’ added Mrs Fitzpatrick.
