The idea to include every pupil in the Prep and Junior School in one musical was first discussed over a year ago and staff started looking into how to produce a show with such a large cast.
Pupils started learning the words to the songs in January, with full scale rehearsals taking place over the last few weeks. The musical was held in the Assembly Hall, where staging was erected to sit the massed chorus.
Form IV Music Technology pupils ran the sound and lighting desks, whilst four of our senior school musicians joined the staff band to provide the music.
Joseph’s amazing technicolor dreamcoat was created from individually decorated squares created by each pupil and brought together by the Home Economics department.
Junior 2 pupils starred in the lead roles, while a number of Junior 1 pupils excited the audience with their dance routines. The musical proved to be a massive team effort, with every year group playing their part in the show.
The pupils were full of enthusiasm and energy, and audiences were provided with a very colourful and stylish musical. All pupils, staff and helpers put in an amazing effort in all three performances.
Well done to everyone who was involved in this process.
