Mr Daniel's Retirement

DAPA would like to thank Mr Geoff Daniel for the commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism which he has brought to the role of school link for the last 20 years. His presence at committee meetings has brought humour and clarity, along with a long-standing knowledge of the school and a deep understanding of parental concerns.

As a mark of our appreciation, we presented him with a painting by Peter Nelson. We wish Geoff and Iseabal a long and happy retirement!

The new school link will be Geoff’s successor as Deputy Rector, Mr Simon Burbury.

Choir visit to Rumbling Bridge Care Home

Whilst Dollar pupils and staff were busy in Perth preparing for the Christmas Carol concerts, the Parents’ and Friends’ Choir visited Rumbling Bridge Care Home to lead the residents in an afternoon of carol singing.

The choir performed a variety of carols in three-part harmony, such as Gaudete and the Coventry Carol. Interspersed with these, the choir led the residents in singing some of their own favourite carols, including Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Little Town of Bethlehem and the Holly and the Ivy.

The residents enjoyed the singing and music, and the requests for different carols were plentiful. A very pleasant afternoon was had by all.

The Dollar Academy Parents’ and Friends’ Choir (DAPFC) meets every second Tuesday during term-time from 7 – 8 pm in the Gibson Auditorium. All parents and friends of the school are welcome to join us. Please contact DAPFC for more information.
